Fur is about to fly between Pamela Anderson and her PETA cohorts and Giorgio Armani. Last year, the designer promised to stop using animal skins in his collection but has apparently gone back on his word–and Anderson plans to take it out on a few major starlets who attend his shows. Find out who, after the jump.
According to Page Six, Armani’s current collection includes fur-trimmed skirts and jackets, a floral printed fur coat, and even a fur coat for babies, violating his promise in Time magazine that he’d join Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein in going fur-free. Anderson, a longtime champion of animal rights, said she plans to put stars who attend Armani shows in the hot seat–including Cate Blanchett and Katie Holmes. Sounds like things could get ugly.
What do you guys think about fur? Would you wear it, or is it unethical? Do you think Pam and PETA are handling this the right way?
I, for one, am with PETA Pam. Fur is completely unecessary and cruel. With the many alternatives of faux and animal friendly fabrics, fur reprents an agnoizing death for animals. Armani should hold to his word and make compassion the fashion!
