As a reluctantly self-admitted loudmouth, I’m usually on the defensive when someone tells me to zip it–but for fall, it’s a style directive you’ll definitely want to follow. Zippers are popping up in some pretty unexpected places, and the effect is a tough-chic look almost anyone looks good in. Shop the trend, after the jump.
I first fell for zippers when I spied Yves Saint Laurent’s leather clutch adorned with them (below). At $1,595 it was cute but not that cute.
So I did a bit of browsing and came up with a hotlist of affordable items inspired by the YSL bag. I am loving those Chinese Laundry pumps, which look much more expensive than their $89.95 price tag; the Armani Exchange necklace is a cute and whimsical way to get into the trend, and my never-fail favorite, Newport News, comes through with a chic zipper-rosette flat I’d wear with just about anything. Will you guys try the trend?
