I’m on my way back from Italy and I can’t stop obsessing over how crazy-good all the women looked in Rome and Capri. I picked up a few ideas that I’ll be stealing in the future—and you should too…
# 1: Bright-color bottoms with an even brighter, matching shoe. I know this sounds ugly, but I swear it can be elegant. I especially liked one Capri-ite who paired her lime-yellow skinny jeans with lemony-lime loafers.
# 2: Looking schlumpy ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. No matter where they are going, the Italians always put in the “A” effort. Made me realize how I’ve been over-embracing the casual/”I don’t really try” thing, which, let’s face it, works a lot better if you’re Kate Moss than a regular person. New style resolution: I will actually dress up a few days a week, no matter what’s in my I-Cal.
# 3: Spend what money you have on accessories. Well-made leather stuff lasts forever.
# 4: Wanna spice up your jeans look? Go red! I love this pair for $39.50!

# 5: Check out this week’s Marni show, straight from Milano, another Italian city with major fashion buzz. Now, get inspired.

Any ideas to add on? How are you kicking it up a notch this season?
